How it started
From running the business to taking it on
The business has an operations manager who ran it for six years for its previous owner. When the owner decided to sell up, he took it on.
He came to this work through car detailing and other jobs, with no trade background.
What is different
Two things worth knowing
The equipment is anti-static end to end: purpose-built vacuums, anti-static hoses at 20 metres and anti-static aluminium wands from one to five metres, because dust moving through a factory can carry static.
The work is aimed at the things that fail as well as the things that look dirty. Gantry crane motors clog with dust and grease, and light fittings and their cabling run extremely hot.
Who it is for
Factories, warehouses and the people who maintain them
Facilities maintenance and management teams, factory owners and warehouse operators. Most of the work comes from repeat clients and referrals.
Very little gets turned down. If it is a cleaning problem in a factory or warehouse, it is worth a conversation. Electrical equipment is the one area that gets particular care, because gear can overheat when it has not had enough air access.
On site
What a day looks like
Everyone signs in and each person’s role is talked through. Usually there are two or three elevating work platforms on site, and every licence and machine is checked. Each platform runs two vacuum setups, with an operator and a labourer on each. The scope for the day is set before work starts: where the crew begins, where it moves to, and where it should finish. Then it works top down, to wherever you want it to stop.
Jobs run from four to six hours at the short end to up to eleven days.
Working with your safety team
Who is responsible for what
WorkSafe Queensland states that where more than one party has a duty for the same matter, each keeps responsibility for its own duty, and that contracting out work does not transfer your responsibilities to someone else. Section 16 of the Work Health and Safety Act is the shared-responsibility rule, and section 46 also asks duty holders to consult, cooperate and coordinate.
In practice that means your induction, your permit system and your isolation procedures stay yours, and the crew works inside them. A site walk before the job is where the details are agreed.
What we leave to others
Cleaners, not roofers or classifiers
We clean. If a roof sheet needs replacing, you get the location and a photograph, not a quote to fix it. If your site needs a hazardous area classification report, that is a different specialist. The roof clean-ups and combustible dust pages say the same.

Tell us the building and the problem
Send the building and what is overhead or inside the plant. Factories, warehouses and the teams who maintain them are who this is for.
